The Village Idiots are very excited to announce the arrival of The Tall Guy to Elora. We have purchased a piece of art, and it is being displayed beside the General Store on Mill St. He's hard to miss----15 feet tall, and if you look up at him, chances are he’ll point right back at ya!

The artist is Scott McNichol, who created this piece, entitled “It’s A Question Of Who’s In Charge” as a commission for the Cambridge Sculpture Garden. It was a temporary commission, and the guy needed a new home. We think he’s fantastic!

Please come and welcome him to the neighbourhood, and celebrate art in public places!!

We were able to acquire this sculpture through the generosity of Scott McNichol, who drove a soft bargain, and was personally involved in the move, which was no easy feat! Keep yours eyes on the World’s Smallest Art Gallery right beside the tall guy—Scott will be doing an installation in the Spring. (We already have a great season lining up, beginning with a fabulous winter installation which should be up in a couple of weeks).

We could not have done this without Rhoda’s enthusiasm and complete support. Thanks, Rhoda Lipton and Barb Lee of the Elora General Store, for extending your hospitality to the tall guy.

And Chris Saunders worked hard, donating his time and brawn to the installation of the piece. Chris is a housewright, his business is Old Soul, and if you need any home and garden maintenance and/or improvement, Chris is the guy. Thanks so much, Chris. We're also grateful to contractor Bill Wyminga for his generous loan of the trailer that moved Tall Guy to his current location.

Dave Smith and Sean Toohill, thanks for your muscles. David Wilcox, thanks for documenting the event.

Enjoy art!

Love, The Village Idiots
